ASCCP-CSCCP Colposcopy Course was successfully held in Beijing, China

ASCCP-CSCCP Colposcopy Course was successfully held between March 26th and March 28th, 2021 in Beijing. This was the 10TH ASCCP-CSCCP colposcopy course In China. Drs. Alan G. Waxman, Christine Conageski and Chengquan Zhao from ASCCP and 10 other experienced Chinese gynecologists, pathologists taught the course. More than 90 participants attended the course.

The colposcopy practice including LEEP, CKC procedures and fractional Laser was explained in detail by CSCCP experts on the first day. The trainees were encouraged to share their own case reports and they were rewarded with the books of Modern Colposcopy and Cervical Cancer Screening and Clinical Management.


On the second day, Dr. Alan G. Waxman gave pre-recorded lectures on Treatment of VaIN and VIN as well as Colposcopy in pregnancy. Dr. Christine Conageski gave pre-recorded lectures on Treatment of HSIL: Cryotherapy, LEEP and Difficulties in Diagnosing Adenocarcinoma in-situ and Coping Strategies. In addition, CSCCP experts gave lectures as advances in cervical cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment of vulval lesions, management of high-grade cervical lesions, and management of positive margins after excision etc.
On the third day, Drs. Waxman, Conageski, Zhao and CSCCP experts discussed nine cases virtually with all participants. The questions discussed included treatment of persistent LSIL, large HSIL in postmenopausal and young women, and management of suspected invasive carcinoma during pregnancy, etc. The participants expressed their thanks for the great achievements throughout the course.

Dr. Lihui Wei, the President of CSCCP, sincerely appreciated the ASCCP experts for their advanced knowledge and their efforts. She said CSCCP and ASCCP would continue to maintain a close academic relationship and work together for future colposcopic training in China.
