NOTE: Prior to beginning the ASCCP Residents Online Examination, your Program Director must have pre-registered you and obtained an individual password for you to use. If you do not have a password, please see your Program Director. Instructions on how to register a residency program and obtain individual passwords for residents may be found under "Instruction for Program Directors."
- Using the ASCCP-generated password, please enroll in the Residents Online Examination registration page and then take a few minutes to complete the short demographics survey provided. Note: Completion of the survey is required prior to beginning the exam. The clock for the examination will not begin until the survey is complete and the actual examination has been opened.
- Take the test. The test must be completed in 1 hours time and MUST BE COMPLETED IN ONE SITTING. No book marking or reentering of the system will be permitted. Note that you will not be allowed at any point to go back and re-review an examination question or change an answer to a question. You may take the exam one time annually until you complete your residency program.
Please make sure your computer---whether a university or home machine---is enabled to accept cookies during the time you take the test. (To adjust cookies, see directions listed at the bottom of this email.) All browsers, including AOL 9.0, will work with this system provided the cookies are enabled.
- ASCCP will then score the exam and provide feedback to the Program Director on how you performed on the multiple-choice section (that tests cognitive skills in colposcopy) and the image-based section (that tests pattern recognition skills). Your scores will be provided to your Program Director 2-3 weeks following the conclusion of the testing quarter (e.g., January, March, July, September). The data will then be provided as a percentile score, comparing the individual resident’s score to other residents' scores across the country and to all residents at that specific level of training.
- Upon completing the exam, please remember to log out of the system. Thank you for participating in this ASCCP educational activity!
Pending a $25.00 one-time initiation fee, resident membership in the Society is free until the resident graduates from his/her residency training program. Membership in the Society includes both a print and online subscription to the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease and allows you to utilize the Pathology Consultation Service, utilize free self-assessment programs on the Societys website, and receive special discounts to courses and educational products. For an application form, please visit the ASCCP website at www.asccp.org or email amason@asccp.org.
