NOTE: Prior to beginning the ASCCP Residents’ Assessment of Competency in Colposcopy exam, you must be registered by your Program Director and be in receipt of a username/password and exam code. If you do not have either of these, please see your Program Director. Instructions on how to register a residency program and residents may be found under "Instruction for Program Directors."

1. Using the username/password login to the examination site, you may take a brief practice exam and explore the site before taking the examination.


2. Take the test. The test must be completed in 1 hour’s time and MUST BE COMPLETED IN ONE SITTING. You may not change your answers. Do not attempt to go back or you may invalidate the exam. Leaving the exam page or closing the browser may result in the invalidation of your exam. You may take the exam one time annually until you complete your residency program.

3. Immediate feedback is provided for performance on the multiple-choice section (that tests cognitive skills in colposcopy) and the image-based exam (that tests pattern recognition skills). The data will be provided as a percentile score, comparing the individual resident’s score to other residents’ scores across the country and to all residents at that specific level of training (similar to the scoring of the CREOG exam).
