| The ASCCP Consensus Conference Bulletin Board is now closed. Guidelines from the 2006 September 18-19 Consensus Conference will be posted on this website pending publication of the guidelines and algorithms (expected release date Spring 2007).
The American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) will hold a Consensus Conference to revise the 2001 Guidelines for the Management of Cytological Abnormalities and Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia on September 18-19, 2006, at the National Cancer Institute’s Natcher Conference Center, in Bethesda, Maryland. The meeting will review and revise draft guidelines developed by multidisciplinary committees with internet-based input from the public. Changes to the 2001 Guidelines will be evidence based, following review of literature published since 2000.
The 2006 Consensus Conference will be open to a limited number (125) of persons serving as observers. Those eligible to serve as observers are those healthcare providers who are either active, dues-paying members, or employees of one of the sponsoring organizations or Federal agencies. In order to assure that all observers meet the eligibility requirements, observers must provide documentation as to their eligibility. Acceptable forms of documentation include either a 2006 dues receipt or a letter from the organization or Federal agency attesting to one’s current membership or employment status. Observers will be allowed to provide their views during daily open microphone periods. Time allotted for each observer’s presentation will be limited and the daily microphone periods will be limited to an overall total time of one hour. Observers attending the Consensus Conference are advised that neither the ASCCP nor the National Cancer Institute is responsible for providing access to electrical outlets. The ASCCP will make every effort to accommodate persons with physical disabilities or special needs. If you require special accommodations due to a disability, please contact Kathleen Poole by fax at 301/733-5775 or by email at kpoole@asccp.org at least 7 days in advance of the meeting. Observer registration form.
Voting participants for the conference will be those delegates formally appointed from the medical organizations and Federal agencies listed below. For those healthcare clinicians who wish to provide input into the 2006 Consensus Guidelines but do not represent one of the participating organizations nor wish to serve as an Observer, the public comment board on this website will serve as the forum for participation.
