Once the Program Director or designee enrolls his/her residents to take the test, the resident may login, take a brief practice exam and explore the site before taking the examination. In addition to the resident, any program administrator given access to the system may take a practice exam to see its structure.
After entering the residents into the system, you may then assign the exam at your discretion. Your residents may take the exam at a time, place and with a level of supervision that you choose. Once started, however, the exam must be completed within one hour and at one sitting. The exam does not have to be taken by all the residents at the same time and, if you allow, it may be taken at home by the residents so it will not interfere with clinical duties and work hour restrictions.
Each resident will be able to take the exam one time annually. Immediate feedback is provided to the resident, as well as the Program Director, on how the resident performed on the multiple-choice section (that tests cognitive skills in colposcopy) and the image-based exam (that tests pattern recognition skills). The data will be provided as a percentile score, comparing the individual resident’s score to other residents’ scores across the country and to all residents at that specific level of training (similar to the scoring of the CREOG exam).
If you are a program director and wish to sign up your residents for this assessment tool, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
. The Program Director will then receive an email from the ASCCP National Office containing information regarding the exam site and an invoice for the examination fees.
